MCPS was honored to have collaborated with MCES for Family Math Night held on
Wednesday October 23, 2024 at MCES from 5pm-7pm. The theme of the event was
numbers in our world. Parents and students were given passports to check-in at
different classrooms. Classrooms were decorated like different countries on different
continents. MCES covered the continent of Europe while MCPS chose the continent of
Africa. PreK teachers lead activities in Liberia, while Kindergarten teachers took visitors
to Uganda. First grade teachers traveled to Cameroon, and second grade teachers
visited Ghana and South Africa. Ms. Grimes along with some partners had travelers
explore Kenya. Other MCPS teachers and staff joined in with MCES Staff to help with
the scavenger hunt. The night was a huge success and a fun math adventure was
enjoyed by everyone who came and took the trip with MCPS and MCES.
