Principal's Message

Dear Mitchell County Primary School Family and Friends,

Welcome to the 2023-24 school year! We hope that you have enjoyed your summer and have made lasting memories. We look forward to seeing all of our returning students and want to extend a very special welcome to the new students who will join our school family for the first time. Mitchell County Primary School’s theme is Bloom Where You Are Planted… Never Stop Growing! We welcome all of you to Baby Eagle Nation and look forward to planting and nurturing the seeds of learning in our students.

Mitchell County Primary School is such a special place to learn and grow. We will use the flower theme to motivate and support growth in all areas including student achievement, professional development and social emotional learning. The beginning of a new year is an opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to make MCPS an environment that reflects high expectations and opportunities for all students. Each year, we renew our commitment to excellence to help our students learn and succeed.

Successful student learning thrives with open communication and an active parent-teacher-school partnership. Our school will be stronger with the support  of families and the community. We are committed to the education and success  of each student and seek to cultivate a strong partnership between the home and school.

The goal of the faculty and staff is to make Mitchell County Primary School an exciting place for students to learn, explore, grow and create memories that will last a lifetime.

Educationally yours,

Donna B. Johnson, Principal
